We ignited a spark at our annual fundraising event “Lighting the Spark”

On Thursday, May 23, Generations Incorporated gathered partners, local leaders, and community champions at the Seaport Hotel to celebrate the lighting of an educational spark for thousands of students across Greater Boston. We raised $110,000 to engage over 1,500 struggling kindergarten through third grade students in results-driven, sustained literacy tutoring.

With the generous support of partners, sponsors, and advocates, Generations Incorporated will continue to provide critical early literacy interventions that close gaps in early literacy skills, boost engagement in school, and place students on the path to academic and professional success.

We envision a day when all children are proficient readers when they enter 4th Grade. Literacy is the key to academic success and can be a path out of poverty.

Generations Incorporated strives to improve the literacy skills of young children through Grade 3. We also provide meaningful opportunities to older adults who serve as literacy volunteers in our partner schools and after school programs in low-income communities.
